Overview

**Danirixin + oseltamivir** is a combination of two drugs: danirixin, a selective and reversible C-X-C chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2) antagonist developed by GSK, and oseltamivir, a neuraminidase inhibitor widely used for influenza treatment. Danirixin functions by inhibiting neutrophil activation and transmigration to inflamed tissues, thereby reducing excessive inflammation associated with influenza, while oseltamivir inhibits influenza virus neuraminidase, blocking viral replication and spread. This combination has been studied in adults with both uncomplicated and hospitalized influenza, aiming to provide additive or synergistic effects by combining anti-inflammatory and antiviral mechanisms. Phase 2 studies have shown potential benefit but were limited by small sample size and early termination; safety profiles showed generally mild adverse events[1][3][5][7].
