Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Danshen granules are a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation derived from the dried root and rhizome of *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen). Developed and manufactured by Zhongjian Kangqiao Pharmaceutical, this oral granule formulation is primarily indicated for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, particularly those characterized by blood stasis, such as chest pain (angina pectoris) and palpitations. The pharmacological profile of Danshen is attributed to its bioactive components, including lipid-soluble tanshinones and water-soluble salvianolic acids. These constituents are known to improve microcirculation, inhibit platelet aggregation, exert anti-inflammatory effects, and provide myocardial protection against ischemia-reperfusion injury. The product is an approved medicine in China, categorized under cardiovascular TCM products.
