Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FTP-002 is a proprietary formulation of dantrolene sodium being developed by Fastox Pharma as a fast-acting enhancer for botulinum toxin type A (BoNT/A). It is intended for use in combination with BoNT/A (specifically the combination product FTP-501) to treat aesthetic indications such as glabellar lines. Dantrolene is a muscle relaxant that functions as a ryanodine receptor antagonist, blocking the release of calcium from the sarcoplasmic reticulum and thereby inhibiting muscle contraction. By co-administering FTP-002 with botulinum toxin, Fastox aims to significantly reduce the time to onset of the paralytic effect, which typically takes several days with conventional toxin treatments. The combination therapy is designed to provide patients with visible results within hours or days, rather than the standard one-week timeframe.
