Daochi Powder (Daochi San) is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula first recorded in the *Key to Therapeutics of Children's Diseases* (Xiao Er Yao Zheng Zhi Jue) by Qian Yi. It is traditionally used to clear heart-fire and promote diuresis, targeting symptoms such as mouth sores, irritability, and dark, painful urination. In modern clinical research, it is being investigated for its potential role in treating neurodevelopmental conditions like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), often as part of a syndrome-differentiation-based regimen. The formula typically consists of Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Di Huang), Clematidis Armandii Caulis or Akebiae Caulis (Mu Tong), Lophatheri Herba (Dan Zhu Ye), and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gan Cao). A non-randomized interventional study (ChiCTR2400089258) is currently evaluating its efficacy and safety in children and adolescents with ASD, focusing on multi-omics biomarkers.
