DAP-FLU ME

DAP-FLU ME is an investigational topical micro-emulsion developed by Mansoura University for the treatment of acne vulgaris. It is a combination therapy consisting of dapsone (5%), an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent, and flutamide (2.5%), an anti-androgenic agent. The formulation is an oil-in-water micro-emulsion that also incorporates natural ingredients like tea tree oil (5%) and rose oil, which provide additional antimicrobial and soothing effects. By targeting multiple pathogenic factors—including androgen-driven sebum production, bacterial colonization (specifically *Staphylococcus aureus*), and inflammatory cytokines like interleukin 1β—DAP-FLU ME aims to provide a comprehensive treatment for mild to moderate acne while minimizing the systemic side effects typically associated with oral administration of its active components.
