Overview

This is a combination drug containing **dapagliflozin**, **alogliptin**, and **metformin**, all of which are oral antihyperglycemic agents. Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that reduces glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, leading to increased urinary glucose excretion. Alogliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases incretin levels, promoting insulin release and decreasing glucagon secretion. Metformin is a biguanide that decreases hepatic glucose production, reduces intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity. There are currently no approved or marketed combination products containing all three ingredients together, but each is individually approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, and in double combinations with metformin. The triple combination would be indicated for glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes when dual therapy is inadequate[2][3][4][5].
