Overview

AJU-A53 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy being developed by AJU PHARM for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It consists of three glucose-lowering agents with complementary mechanisms of action: dapagliflozin (a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 [SGLT2] inhibitor), linagliptin (a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 [DPP-4] inhibitor), and metformin (a biguanide). This triple combination aims to improve glycemic control by increasing urinary glucose excretion, enhancing incretin hormone levels to stimulate insulin secretion, and reducing hepatic glucose production. The development of AJU-A53 focuses on providing a convenient single-tablet regimen for patients who require multiple medications to manage their blood glucose levels.
