Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Dapagliflozin + linagliptin + metformin** is a fixed-dose oral combination of three antidiabetic drugs used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus when monotherapy or dual therapy is insufficient. - **Dapagliflozin**: A sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (**SGLT2**) inhibitor that lowers blood glucose by increasing urinary glucose excretion. - **Linagliptin**: A dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (**DPP-4**) inhibitor that increases incretin levels, leading to increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon release. - **Metformin**: A biguanide that decreases hepatic glucose production, reduces gastrointestinal absorption of glucose, and enhances insulin sensitivity. The combination enables complementary glucose-lowering mechanisms, improved glycemic control, and may reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications. It is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise in adults with type 2 diabetes.
