Overview

CMG190303 is a fixed-dose combination small molecule therapeutic being developed by CMG Pharmaceutical for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus and comorbid dyslipidemia. The product combines dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor, with rosuvastatin calcium, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). Dapagliflozin functions by reversibly inhibiting SGLT-2 in the renal proximal convoluted tubule, which reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion to lower blood sugar levels. Rosuvastatin addresses dyslipidemia by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in hepatic cholesterol synthesis, thereby reducing LDL cholesterol levels. This dual-action approach is designed to improve both glycemic control and lipid management in patients at risk for cardiovascular disease. CMG190303 is currently being evaluated in multicenter Phase III clinical trials.
