Overview
BR3005 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) of dapagliflozin and sitagliptin developed by Boryung Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that reduces renal glucose reabsorption, leading to urinary glucose excretion. Sitagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that slows the inactivation of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP), thereby increasing insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner. The combination is marketed in South Korea under the brand name Trudapa S.
