Overview

**dapagliflozin + sparsentan** is an oral combination therapy comprising **dapagliflozin**, a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, and **sparsentan**, a dual antagonist of the endothelin type A receptor and angiotensin II type 1 receptor. Dapagliflozin reduces renal glucose reabsorption, lowering blood glucose and providing nephroprotection. Sparsentan blocks pathogenic signaling of endothelin-1 and angiotensin II in the kidney, exerting antiproteinuric, antifibrotic, and anti-inflammatory effects. The combination is being studied primarily for the treatment of chronic kidney diseases such as IgA nephropathy and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, especially in patients with persistent proteinuria on standard therapy.
