Daping

Daping (dapagliflozin) is an orally administered small molecule inhibitor of the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2), developed and marketed by Ingram Biosciences. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. By selectively inhibiting SGLT2 in the proximal renal tubules, the drug reduces glucose reabsorption, leading to increased urinary glucose excretion and lower blood glucose levels. Beyond glycemic control, Daping provides cardio-renal benefits, including reducing the risk of hospitalization for heart failure and slowing the progression of chronic kidney disease in eligible patients with cardiovascular or renal risk factors.
