Overview
DARE-PTB1 is an investigational intravaginal ring (IVR) designed to deliver bio-identical progesterone continuously for up to 14 days. It is being developed by Daré Bioscience as a treatment to reduce the risk of preterm birth in at-risk women—a significant unmet need as there are currently no FDA-approved therapies specifically for this indication. The device uses sustained-release technology to provide a non-oral alternative to daily progesterone injections or gels and may also be investigated for luteal phase support in IVF regimens. The product leverages the same IVR platform used in other Daré programs and aims to offer improved convenience and adherence compared with existing options[1][3][5][8][9].
