Overview

This is a combination regimen of three drugs: dasatinib, paclitaxel, and carboplatin. Dasatinib is an oral small molecule inhibitor of multiple tyrosine kinases, including BCR-Abl and Src-family kinases. Paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing agent that inhibits cell division by promoting tubulin polymerization. Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic that induces DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. This triplet combination has been investigated primarily in advanced or recurrent gynecologic cancers such as ovarian and endometrial cancer, where preclinical studies have shown synergistic or additive antitumor effects. Dasatinib targets signaling pathways involved in tumor growth and resistance mechanisms—particularly the Src pathway—while paclitaxel and carboplatin provide cytotoxic chemotherapy[1][2][3][4]. The regimen has demonstrated clinical activity with manageable toxicity profiles but also increased risk for hematologic adverse events such as neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia[1][2].
