Overview

*Dasiphora mandshurica* (also known as *Potentilla mandshurica*) is a botanical species within the Rosaceae family, traditionally utilized in Siberian and East Asian folk medicine. The plant's leaves and shoots are commonly prepared as "Kuril tea," a beverage valued for its high concentration of bioactive polyphenols, including flavonoids (such as quercetin and kaempferol), catechins, and phenolic acids. These constituents provide significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective effects. Pharmacological studies have demonstrated its ability to mitigate oxidative stress by scavenging reactive oxygen species and to support gastrointestinal health. While widely consumed as a functional food and dietary supplement, it is also investigated for potential therapeutic applications in metabolic and inflammatory diseases.
