Overview

APG-1387 (dasminapant) is a small molecule, second mitochondria-derived activator of caspases (SMAC) mimetic that functions as a potent and highly selective inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs). By antagonizing IAPs, APG-1387 induces apoptosis in cancer cells and modulates immune responses. It has demonstrated antitumor activity in preclinical models and is being investigated for use both as monotherapy and in combination with other agents such as checkpoint inhibitors or chemotherapy. Additionally, APG-1387 has shown potential antiviral activity against hepatitis B virus (HBV), with the ability to induce immune modulation in HBV-infected liver cells. The drug was discovered and developed by Ascentage Pharma.
