Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Daunorubicin + cytarabine liposome** is a fixed-ratio liposomal chemotherapy product containing the anthracycline topoisomerase II inhibitor daunorubicin and the nucleoside metabolic inhibitor cytarabine at a 1:5 molar ratio. The nanoscale liposomes maintain coordinated exposure to both agents and alter their distribution and elimination relative to conventional free-drug daunorubicin and cytarabine. Marketed by Jazz Pharmaceuticals as **Vyxeos** and **Vyxeos Liposomal**, it is administered by intravenous infusion for newly diagnosed therapy-related acute myeloid leukemia and acute myeloid leukemia with myelodysplasia-related changes in adults and pediatric patients aged 1 year and older. Celator Pharmaceuticals originated CPX-351 and was acquired by Jazz Pharmaceuticals in 2016. ([accessdata.fda.gov](https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2026/209401s018lbl.pdf))
