Overview

Daxdilimab is a human monoclonal antibody that targets ILT7 (also known as LILRA4), a cell surface molecule specifically expressed on plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs)[1][2][6]. By binding to ILT7, daxdilimab selectively depletes pDCs, which are key producers of type I interferon and play a central role in the pathogenesis of several autoimmune diseases[6][7]. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and is being developed for multiple autoimmune indications, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), dermatomyositis, discoid lupus erythematosus, lupus nephritis, myositis, and alopecia areata[2][3][5]. Daxdilimab was originally developed by SBI Biotech and is currently being advanced by Horizon Therapeutics (formerly Viela Bio)[2].
