Dazostinag is a novel small-molecule agonist of the stimulator of interferon genes protein (STING; also known as transmembrane protein 173 or TMEM173), developed for intravenous administration in the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid tumors. By binding to and activating STING in immune cells within the tumor microenvironment, dazostinag triggers the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interferons (IFNs), enhances cross-presentation of tumor-associated antigens by dendritic cells, and induces a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-mediated immune response against cancer cells. This mechanism mobilizes both innate and adaptive immunity to exert antineoplastic effects. Dazostinag is being investigated both as a single agent and in combination with pembrolizumab for various solid tumors.
