Overview

DB1RA is a repositioned neurokinin-1 (NK-1) receptor antagonist being developed by Deutsche Biotech Innovativ’s subsidiary Oncoprevent as an oral preventive therapy for breast cancer in women identified as high risk using proprietary biomarker-based diagnostics. It is based on an existing NK-1 receptor antagonist drug and is reported to prevent both hormone receptor–positive and hormone receptor–negative breast tumors with fewer side effects than tamoxifen, positioning it as a potential broad chemopreventive agent in breast oncology.[1] Preclinical development has been focused on demonstrating its efficacy in reducing breast cancer incidence in biomarker-selected populations, with plans for clinical trials after completion of toxicology and other preclinical studies.[1][3][5][7][11]
