DBI UC-MSC is an allogeneic cell therapy consisting of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from human umbilical cord tissue. Developed by Daewoong Biologics Indonesia, a subsidiary of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, the therapy is primarily being investigated for the treatment of frailty in elderly patients. The therapy leverages the immunomodulatory and regenerative properties of mesenchymal stem cells to address systemic inflammation and tissue degradation associated with aging and frailty. It is administered via intravenous infusion. In August 2024, the developer received certification from Indonesia's BPOM for its manufacturing facility in Cikarang, which is the first foreign-owned stem cell facility in Indonesia to receive Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification.
