DBX-31 is a naturally sourced anticancer protein being developed by DeoBioSciences as a first-in-class targeted therapy for advanced, treatment‑resistant cancers, including HER2‑positive breast cancer and multiple forms of triple‑negative breast cancer.[1][10][7] In preclinical in vitro studies conducted at Cornell University, DBX-31 selectively induced rapid external apoptosis in a wide range of metastatic, drug‑resistant tumor cell lines, achieving cancer cell kill rates reportedly up to ~95% within 72 hours while sparing normal cells, and demonstrating higher cytotoxicity than several approved chemotherapies under controlled conditions.[1][17][19] The agent remains at a preclinical stage, with ongoing efforts focused on further characterizing its protein nature, expanding tumor indications across solid malignancies (and at least some skin-related neoplastic contexts), and generating xenograft data to de‑risk future human clinical trials.[1][4][10][13][19]
