Overview

DC-CIK cells are an autologous cell-based immunotherapy consisting of dendritic cells (DCs) and cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells. Developed by Shenzhen Hornetcorn Bio-technology Company, LTD, this therapy is designed to enhance the body's anti-tumor immune response. Dendritic cells are professional antigen-presenting cells that, when co-cultured with CIK cells, improve their proliferation and tumor-specific cytotoxicity. CIK cells are a unique population of T lymphocytes that express both T-cell (CD3) and natural killer (NK) cell (CD56) markers, allowing for potent, non-MHC-restricted lysis of malignant cells. In the context of hepatocellular carcinoma, these cells are often administered following Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization (TACE) to eliminate residual tumor cells and reduce the risk of recurrence.
