Overview

The DC-RCC786-O fusion vaccine is an experimental cancer immunotherapy produced by fusing peripheral blood dendritic cells (DCs) from healthy volunteers with the renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cell line 786-O using polyethylene glycol (PEG). As a dendritic cell-tumor fusion vaccine, it combines the potent antigen-presenting capabilities of DCs with the broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) expressed by the 786-O cell line. Preclinical studies indicate that the vaccine up-regulates the expression of co-stimulatory molecules like CD86 and MHC class II molecules (HLA-DR), increases the secretion of interleukin-12 (IL-12), and effectively stimulates the proliferation of allogeneic T lymphocytes. In vivo experiments in human immune-reconstituted SCID mice bearing RCC786-O tumors demonstrated significant tumor volume reduction and increased lymphocyte infiltration, suggesting its potential as a novel treatment for renal cell carcinoma.
