Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DC01 (also known as DV2-DC01) is an investigational monovalent pandemic influenza vaccine formulation developed by Dynavax Technologies. It consists of an A/H5N1 influenza hemagglutinin (HA) antigen adjuvanted with CpG 1018, a synthetic Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist, with or without aluminum hydroxide (alum). The vaccine is designed to enhance pandemic influenza preparedness by eliciting robust humoral and cellular immune responses against the H5N1 avian influenza virus. The CpG 1018 adjuvant mimics bacterial DNA to activate plasmacytoid dendritic cells and B cells, promoting a strong Th1-biased immune response and enabling dose-sparing of the viral antigen. DC01 is administered via intramuscular injection and is being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials in healthy adults.
