Overview

"dC60" is a non-specific designation used for several distinct biomedical entities. It primarily refers to **deamino-6-carba-oxytocin**, a synthetic peptide analog of the hormone oxytocin. In this analog, the disulfide bridge is replaced by a methylene group at the 6-position, which confers resistance to certain enzymatic degradation pathways while maintaining potent agonist activity at the **oxytocin receptor**. It has been extensively studied in neuropharmacology for its effects on memory consolidation and passive avoidance behavior. Additionally, "dC60" refers to **aqueous fullerene C60**, a carbon-based nanomaterial investigated for its antioxidant properties and its ability to restore chemosensitivity in drug-resistant tumor cells (such as HCMV-infected hepatocellular carcinoma and leukemia cells) by modulating apoptotic pathways. In clinical trial literature, "DC60" is also frequently employed as a shorthand for a specific dosage level, most notably **docetaxel at 60 mg/m²** (often evaluated in the DC60/cisplatin regimen for non-small cell lung cancer) or **curcumin at 60 mg/kg** in experimental metabolic studies.
