Overview
Dclonom-TH is a small molecule combination drug developed and manufactured by Acinom Healthcare, an Indian pharmaceutical company. It is a generic formulation typically composed of diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and thiocolchicoside, a muscle relaxant. Diclofenac provides analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins that mediate pain and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside is a semi-synthetic derivative of colchicoside that acts as a competitive gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor antagonist and also exhibits glycine receptor antagonism. Despite its antagonistic pharmacological profile, it functions as a muscle relaxant to treat painful muscle spasms. Dclonom-TH is primarily used for the management of acute pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders such as low back pain, neck pain, and post-traumatic conditions.
