Overview

DCm-HGG-L is an autologous, personalized dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine developed by University Hospital Leuven (KU Leuven) for the treatment of high-grade gliomas (HGG), specifically glioblastoma. The therapy is produced by harvesting a patient's own dendritic cells, maturing them (DCm), and pulsing them with a lysate derived from the patient's own resected tumor tissue (HGG-L). These mature dendritic cells are then administered back to the patient to present a broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens to the immune system, thereby stimulating a specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte response against remaining tumor cells. It has been evaluated in Phase II clinical trials, such as the HGG-2010 AS trial, as an add-on to standard-of-care temozolomide chemotherapy following surgical resection.
