Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DCO1 (also referred to as DC01) is an investigational monovalent pandemic influenza vaccine formulation targeting the A/H5N1 subtype of the influenza A virus. Developed by Dynavax Technologies Corporation, with PPD Australia acting as the local clinical trial sponsor, the vaccine consists of recombinant A/H5N1 hemagglutinin (HA) antigen formulated with Dynavax's proprietary CpG 1018 adjuvant (a Toll-like receptor 9 agonist) and with or without alum (aluminum hydroxide). It is designed to enhance immunogenicity and provide dose-sparing capabilities during a potential influenza pandemic. DCO1 is being evaluated in a Phase 1 randomized, observer-blinded, dose-finding clinical trial in healthy adults in Australia to assess the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of various antigen and adjuvant dose combinations.
