Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**DCR-LIV2** is an investigational GalXC RNAi therapeutic candidate developed by Dicerna Pharmaceuticals (now part of Novo Nordisk) in collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim for the treatment of **nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)**, a chronic liver disease characterized by fat accumulation, inflammation, and fibrosis with no approved therapies at the time of its advancement. It leverages Dicerna's proprietary GalXC platform, which uses siRNA conjugated with GalNAc for targeted hepatocyte delivery, enabling precise gene silencing via RNA interference (RNAi). In May 2021, Boehringer Ingelheim accepted DCR-LIV2 as a development candidate under their RNAi research collaboration and license agreement, triggering a preclinical milestone payment to Dicerna.[1][4][6]
