Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DD07 is an oral amylin receptor agonist currently in the IND-enabling stage of development for the treatment of obesity. Developed by D&D Pharmatech, the candidate utilizes the proprietary ORALINK™ technology, which incorporates a permeation enhancer to achieve oral bioavailability for peptide drugs, typically exceeding 5%. DD07 mimics the action of amylin, a pancreatic hormone that promotes satiety and slows gastric emptying, thereby facilitating weight loss. In March 2024, the compound was licensed to Metsera as part of a significant deal to advance a portfolio of oral metabolic therapies. While primarily targeted for obesity, the drug's mechanism also holds potential for type 2 diabetes management, for which it was previously explored.
