DD14

DD14 is an oral dual agonist peptide targeting the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptors, currently under development for the treatment of obesity. Developed by the Korean biotechnology company D&D Pharmatech, the drug utilizes the proprietary ORALINK™ technology platform, which is designed to enhance the oral bioavailability of therapeutic peptides to greater than 5%. By targeting both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, DD14 aims to provide weight loss efficacy comparable to injectable dual agonists like tirzepatide while offering the convenience of oral administration. In 2024, D&D Pharmatech expanded its partnership with the U.S.-based company Metsera to include the global development of DD14 as part of a significant technology transfer agreement.
