DDCART-CD19 is an investigational donor-derived chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by the St. Sophia Children's Hospital (Nosokomeio Paidon I Agia Sofia) in Athens, Greece, it is specifically designed for patients with CD19-positive hematologic malignancies, primarily acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), who have relapsed after an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). The therapy utilizes T-cells collected from the original stem cell donor, which are then genetically modified to express a CAR specific for CD19. This strategy is intended to provide a potent anti-leukemic effect in the post-transplant setting where the patient's own T-cells may be exhausted or unavailable, while aiming to minimize the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) through controlled manufacturing and administration.
