The **Ddx21 plasmid vaccine** is an experimental DNA plasmid-based cancer vaccine encoding the DEAD-box helicase 21 (Ddx21) antigen. Developed by researchers at the University of Washington, the vaccine is designed to target Ddx21, a nucleolar RNA helicase that is overexpressed in various malignancies, including breast cancer, and is associated with tumor cell proliferation and ribosomal RNA processing. In preclinical transgenic mouse models of breast cancer (such as TgC3(1)-Tag), vaccination with the Ddx21 plasmid has been shown to induce anti-tumor immune responses and mediate significant tumor growth inhibition.
