Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DE-104 vehicle is the inactive placebo formulation used as a comparator in clinical trials for DE-104, a small molecule Rho-kinase (ROCK) inhibitor. Developed jointly by Santen Pharmaceutical and Ube Industries, DE-104 was investigated for the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The vehicle formulation contains the same excipients and delivery components as the active DE-104 ophthalmic solution but lacks the active ROCK inhibitor ingredient. It serves as a control to allow for double-masked assessment of the safety and intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering efficacy of the drug candidate in Phase 2 clinical trials.
