DE-108 is an ophthalmic solution developed by Santen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is being investigated for its superior efficacy and safety in perioperative bacteria eradication in patients scheduled for cataract surgery. The drug is administered as one drop, three times daily, for three days prior to and fourteen days following cataract surgery. It is currently in Phase III clinical trials, where it is being compared to Levofloxacin 0.5% ophthalmic solution.
