Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DEBIO 1143 + carboplatin + paclitaxel is a combination therapy investigated for the treatment of locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (LA-SCCHN). DEBIO 1143 (also called xevinapant) is an orally available small molecule antagonist of inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs), designed to promote apoptosis (programmed cell death) and enhance antitumor immunity; it acts as a radiosensitizer and may potentiate the effect of chemoradiotherapy. Carboplatin and paclitaxel are standard chemotherapeutic agents commonly used in the treatment of various solid tumors; carboplatin is a platinum coordination complex causing DNA crosslinking and apoptosis, while paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules, inhibiting mitosis[1][5].
