Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Debitai is a pharmaceutical preparation containing bismuth aluminate as the active ingredient. Bismuth aluminate is an inorganic compound used primarily for its gastrointestinal protective properties, particularly in the management of gastric and duodenal ulcers and other acid-related disorders. It acts locally in the gut to coat ulcerated or inflamed mucosa, providing a protective barrier against stomach acid and pepsin, thereby promoting healing. Bismuth compounds may also have mild antimicrobial activity against Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium associated with peptic ulcer disease[8].
