Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DEC103 is an EMS-sponsored, investigational **co-administration regimen** evaluated for prophylactic control of acute pain associated with intrauterine-device insertion. The regimen consists of a sublingual ketorolac formulation together with an oral antispasmodic/analgesic formulation containing metamizole sodium, scopolamine butylbromide, hyoscyamine hydrobromide, and homatropine methylbromide. Ketorolac provides nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesia through cyclooxygenase inhibition, while the other components combine analgesic activity with antimuscarinic smooth-muscle antispasmodic effects. In the registered Phase IV study, participants received two sublingual tablets and one oral tablet one hour before IUD insertion.
