Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Decolic is an oral suspension/syrup formulation manufactured by Kaiser Pharmaceutical (Kaiser Drugs Pvt Ltd). It is a combination product containing dicyclomine hydrochloride and simethicone. Dicyclomine is a small molecule anticholinergic agent that acts as an antispasmodic by blocking acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors on smooth muscle, thereby reducing gastrointestinal motility and cramping. Simethicone is an anti-foaming agent that reduces surface tension of gas bubbles, facilitating their expulsion and relieving bloating. Decolic is primarily indicated for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders, including infantile colic, abdominal cramps, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in pediatric populations.
