Dedu Honghua Qiwei Powder is a traditional Mongolian medicine (TMM) formulation primarily indicated for the treatment of liver fibrosis and chronic liver diseases. Developed and researched by the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University, this multi-component preparation consists of seven primary ingredients: Carthamus tinctorius, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellirica, Phyllanthus emblica, Momordica cochinchinensis, Swertia mussotii, and Cinnabaris. The drug's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of hepatic stellate cell (HSC) activation and the downregulation of pro-fibrotic signaling pathways, particularly the TGF-beta1/Smad pathway. It also demonstrates antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which help reduce extracellular matrix deposition and liver injury. It is typically administered orally as a powder and is used in clinical settings as a hospital preparation for conditions such as chronic hepatitis and early-stage liver cirrhosis.
