Deglet Noor date derived polysaccharides (DP) are bioactive carbohydrate macromolecules extracted from the Deglet Noor variety of *Phoenix dactylifera* (date palm), a semi-dry date originating from Algeria. As a research-stage natural product, DP is investigated for its prebiotic and therapeutic potential, particularly in modulating the gut microbiome and enhancing intestinal barrier function. In preclinical models, it has demonstrated the ability to alleviate antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis (such as amoxicillin-induced diarrhea) by increasing mucin-2 production, enhancing intestinal barrier integrity, and reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines.
