Overview

DehydraTECH-estradiol is a preclinical-stage oral formulation of the estrogen hormone estradiol, developed by Lexaria Bioscience in partnership with Enertopia. It utilizes Lexaria's proprietary DehydraTECH drug delivery platform, which is designed to improve the bioavailability and absorption of lipophilic active pharmaceutical ingredients. In preclinical animal studies (HOR-A22-1), the formulation demonstrated a significant increase in peak blood concentration (approximately 900%) compared to standard oral estradiol. The drug acts as an estrogen receptor agonist and is intended for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to treat symptoms of menopause.
