DehydraTECH-remdesivir

DehydraTECH-remdesivir is an investigational oral formulation of the antiviral drug remdesivir, developed by Lexaria Bioscience (through its subsidiary Cannabis Delivery Sciences). The formulation utilizes Lexaria's proprietary DehydraTECH drug delivery platform, which is designed to enhance the oral bioavailability and performance of lipophilic active pharmaceutical ingredients. Remdesivir is a small molecule nucleotide analog that acts as an inhibitor of the viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). While remdesivir is traditionally administered intravenously for the treatment of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), the DehydraTECH formulation aims to enable effective oral delivery by improving absorption through the gastrointestinal tract and potentially bypassing first-pass liver metabolism via the lymphatic system.
