Overview

Dehydrated human amnion membrane (dHAM) is a tissue-based allograft derived from the innermost layer of the human placenta. It is processed using proprietary methods, such as the PURION® process, to create a stable, dehydrated graft that preserves the natural extracellular matrix (ECM), growth factors, and cytokines essential for tissue regeneration. dHAM serves as a biological scaffold that promotes cell migration and proliferation while providing a protective barrier for wounds. It is primarily utilized in the management of chronic, non-healing wounds like diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers, as well as in surgical settings to reduce inflammation and scarring, such as in postprostatectomy nerve protection and Mohs micrographic surgery reconstruction.
