Overview

Dehydrocorydaline is a quaternary ammonium alkaloid primarily isolated from the tubers of *Corydalis yanhusuo*. It has been investigated for a variety of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and cardiovascular effects. In the context of oncology, specifically multiple myeloma, dehydrocorydaline has been identified as a potential therapeutic agent that targets mitosis and induces cytotoxicity in cells characterized by high expression of NUF2, a driver of high-risk disease and genomic instability. Research indicates that it may also regulate autophagy and modulate the expression of Poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase (PARP), contributing to its anti-proliferative and cytotoxic profile in malignant cells.
