DEL-1 monoclonal antibody is an investigational biologic agent designed to target **Developmental Endothelial Locus-1 (DEL-1)**, also known as **EDIL3** (EGF-like repeats and discoidin I-like domains 3). DEL-1 is a 52-kDa extracellular matrix protein that serves as a critical regulator of leukocyte recruitment and vascular homeostasis. In the context of oncology, DEL-1 is frequently overexpressed in the tumor microenvironment, where it promotes angiogenesis by interacting with αvβ3 and αvβ5 integrins and contributes to an immunosuppressive milieu by modulating myeloid cell behavior. Monoclonal antibodies targeting DEL-1 are being developed as anti-cancer therapeutics to inhibit tumor vascularization and reverse immune evasion. Conversely, the DEL-1 pathway is also being explored for inflammatory conditions such as multiple sclerosis and periodontitis, where DEL-1 mimetics (rather than antibodies) are typically used to leverage its endogenous anti-inflammatory properties, such as the antagonism of the LFA-1/ICAM-1 interaction.
