Delisheng

Delisheng is a traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) compound injection widely used in China for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other solid tumors, including prostate, lung, and nasopharyngeal cancers. It is a multi-component therapeutic consisting of extracts from four primary sources: ginseng (Radix ginseng), milk vetch root (Radix astragali), bufonis secretions (Venenum bufonis), and cantharidium (Mylabris). Delisheng exerts its antineoplastic effects through a multi-targeted mechanism that includes the induction of apoptosis via both intrinsic (mitochondrial) and extrinsic (death receptor) pathways, cell cycle arrest at the G1 or S phase, and the inhibition of tumor angiogenesis. Specifically, it has been shown to downregulate vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and osteopontin (OPN) while upregulating endostatin (ES). Often used as an adjuvant to conventional chemotherapy, Delisheng aims to enhance therapeutic efficacy, alleviate symptoms of weakness, and improve the quality of life for patients with advanced-stage malignancies.
