Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DeltaFLU is a universal influenza vaccine developed by Vivaldi Biosciences. It is administered as a nasal spray and is composed of genetically attenuated influenza vaccine strains with the NS1 gene deleted. This deletion allows DeltaFLU to induce interferon, creating a self-adjuvant effect that activates multiple immune mechanisms, including broadly cross-neutralizing antibodies and T cells. DeltaFLU provides protection against all influenza A and B strains, including seasonal and pandemic types, and is replication-deficient, meaning it does not form viral progeny and is not shed by recipients.
