DeltaGold

DeltaGold is a specific dietary supplement formulation of annatto-derived tocotrienols, containing approximately 90% delta-tocotrienol and 10% gamma-tocotrienol. It is being developed by the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for the treatment of osteoporosis and osteopenia in postmenopausal women. The supplement functions by suppressing oxidative stress, as indicated by reduced levels of the biomarker 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), and by modulating the RANKL/OPG signaling pathway. This modulation leads to a decrease in bone resorption markers, such as N-terminal telopeptide (NTX), and an improvement in bone formation markers, such as bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP), thereby balancing bone remodeling in favor of increased bone density.
